Everyone's a DJ is a free, not-for-profit party hosted at Disgraceland in Toronto on the second Saturday of every month. Each party features sixteen rookie and veteran DJs alike playing twenty-minute sets each. No experience is required, and any old music will do.
Matt Blair launched the series as a one-off party at Tiger Bar in Toronto in December of 2007. The night became a monthly series the following February, after word had gotten out and other would-be and established DJs alike started asking for their own shot on the decks. The party moved to Disgraceland in June, and celebrated its first anniversary in December. Currently, Matt is working on launching similar parties in other Canadian cities.
DJs are booked on a "first come, first served" basis. All those who are interested in spinning at future editions of the series are welcome to sign up.
Disgraceland is located at 965 Bloor Street West, near Ossington Station. Matt Blair is a Toronto-based DJ whose past and present credits include Blow Up, Wavelength, Babylon Telecom, Yo! Jamz, the Twitter Global Twestival at Circa, Rx, Eat Your Greens, and the "Just" series of charity marathons hosted by Indiepolitik, the community organization that he founded in 2005.
